When I remade defproc.co.uk a few months ago I made the decision to keep it relatively clean and apolitical. To maintain a reasonably professional attitude and avoid controversial expression. Thinking about it tonight, though, I've concluded that the reasons that I was compelled to do so were in direct opposition of the very opinions I would have written about. I asked myself, 'why is it preferable that a person does not express his anti-establishment sentiments?' and with the answer came quite a realisation.
We're living in a strongly oppressed state. We are no more free than the oppressed populaces in those stories of oppression. The video below might be American but we're really no better off here in Britain. The difference is that, for all the criticism we have for America and its people's apparent blindness to the forces of the world, some people over there actually have the tits to gather and oppose it all. Now watch and learn all about the coalition of government and media, and how propaganda is not an idea that's relegated to the confines of history.
Just a bunch of stupid hippies? Or is there another reason you might think that?
