On the 9th of February, DefProc was one of 25 businesses to make the official Tech Climbers 2023 list. The annual list reveal event was held at Love Lane Brewery. Organised by Active Profile, BusinessCloud and TechBlast, the Tech Climbers list showcases the top-performing, IP-rich, product-led technology businesses in the Liverpool City Region. These businesses must demonstrate their impact, innovation and investment opportunities.
The Tech Climbers Event
As well as the Tech Climbers list reveal, the evening included two panels of speakers. In the first panel, we heard from Chelsea Slater (CEO of Innovate Her), Claire Lewis (CEO at Baltic Ventures) and Emma Jarvis (Founder of Parent Promise by DearBump). There were insightful discussions around preparing women and girls for work in the tech industry, discovering funding for building a sustainable business and how to make companies more family-friendly.
The second panel featured DefProc’s MD Jen Fenner, as well as Antony Shimmin (CEO, Co-Founder of MyCardium AI), Adam Triantis (CEO of Trigenex) and Adam Sykes (Co-Founder and CEO of Swiftcase). This panel offered the opportunity to hear from the people behind successful tech scale-ups in the Liverpool City Region. All four speakers identified that although technology and innovation are crucial to their work, people are ultimately the key to success, whether they are networking connections, investors or team members.
What’s next?
We’re incredibly proud that DefProc has made the Tech Climbers list after previously being The Ones To Watch in 2021. After the difficulties thousands of businesses like ours encountered during the pandemic, it’s important that we recognise our progress.
As well as making the Tech Climbers list, DefProc has also won the Environmental Award at the Liverpool City Region Culture & Creativity Awards this year. Keep your fingers crossed for us, as we’re nominees for the Best Innovation & Tech Business at the City of Liverpool Business Awards. You can cast your vote for us here.
